Hello Fresh!

Gorgeous Greens Farro Bowl. Easy to prepare and delicious!

Grape harvest season seemed like the perfect time to return to a home meal delivery plan. We had tried Hello Fresh this past winter along with a few others, and found their plans to be most consistently satisfying.  Ingredients arrive in great condition and we appreciate the information about the sources. I am happy to cook and it is a real treat to have the components delivered to our door. Everything I need to prepare nutritious meals without making a shopping list

Vineyard Meditation

Hints of Spring are in the air. The songs of birds – new arrivals from the south .. the hint of earthy aroma in the air .. senses stirring and the dogs’ noses are filling with the smells of coming life.

Trimming the grapevines connects me deeply to the changing season. Buds are swelling and I prune away excess canes to allow strong fruitful growth when the temperatures warm.

Farming for Fitness … healthy body, happy soul. Get outside and breathe!

Vineyard Bathing

It’s not exactly a bath, but the effect may be felt all over the body. This time of year – mid-September through mid-October – the aroma in America’s Grape Country is powerful and when you walk in the vineyard it is true immersion. Morning and evening can be the times when the fragrance is most intense, but if you are just driving through the Lake Erie Grape Region you can experience the effect. Roll down your windows and take a deep breath in .. aaaaahhh .. the fragrance washes over you and the effect is almost intoxicating ..  scent is a powerful receptor and keeper of memories …you may choose to pursue another level (moderation is recommended!) of intoxication by seeking the fermented results … but a simple inhalation may produce a satisfying result.

Ready for a vineyard bath?  Let’s take a stroll through the Concord grapes at Trolley Line Vineyards.
